東京電力は15日、福島第1原発1号機原子炉建屋を覆うカバーの解体に向けた作業の画像を公開した。カバーを外したときに放射性物質を含む粉じんが舞い上 がらないよう、飛散防止剤を内部に噴霧する様子で、噴霧器を大型クレーンでつり上げ、屋根部分に開けた穴から散布した。放射線量が高いため、噴霧作業は遠 隔操作で行った。
