青森県六ヶ所村で建設が進められている使用済み核燃料の再処理工場について、事業者の日本原燃は、今月末までとしていた完成時期を延期することを決め、7日、県に報告しました。完成時期の延期は26回目で、新たな時期は示しませんでした。 青森県六ヶ所村にある再処理工場は、原子力発電所から出る使用済み核燃料から再利用できるプルトニウムを取り出す施設で、国が進める核燃料サイクル政策の中核とされています。 新たな完成時期は示さず、年内に改めて公表するとしています。 延期の理由について、日本原燃の増田尚宏社長は、完成の前提となる、安全対策工事などをめぐる原子力規制委員会の審査が続いているためと説明し、「計画どおり進めることができずたび重なる工程変更を行い、皆様にご不安、ご心配をおかけしていることを改めておわび申し上げます」と謝罪しました。 […] 再処理工場は当初、25年前の平成9年に完成する計画でしたが、たび重なるトラブルなどの影響で完成時期は今回を含めて26回延期されています。 全文
