放射能汚染がありながらも発展を遂げたアメリカの地域を研究し、福島の復興に活かそうと、東日本国際大学といわき市、双葉郡８町村が協定を結んだ。 この協定は、核施設の放射能に汚染されたアメリカのハンフォード地域が発展を遂げるまでの取り組みを研究し、原発事故後の福島のまちづくりに役立てようと結ばれたもの。 （略） 夏ごろには大学と自治体関係者で現地を視察し、ハンフォードの取り組みを福島で活かすことができるか検証していくと言う。 またハンフォードからも関係者を招き、除染作業の過程や現在の状況などについて学ぶ国際シンポジウムも行われた。 全文は放射能汚染地域を研究　福島の復興に活かす
