長崎の爆心地から東約3キロにある西山地区は、原爆投下直後に「黒い雨」が降り注いだことで知られる。「死の灰」を浴びた1954年の第五福竜丸の被ばく を機に、米科学者が放射性降下物の問題を過小評価できなくなる中、日米の科学者は69年に西山地区で内部被ばく調査を実施。しかし被爆から約四半世紀後の 実測には限界があった。 それでも、この時の実測値を逆算して被爆者の内部被ばく線量を推定。日本政府はこれを根拠に「線量は少なかった」と今なお主張するが、実態と懸け離れた線量逆算は、内部被ばく軽視という”落とし穴”を招いた。 過去記事一覧 続きは原子力時代の死角:核と日本人
