DARIEN – On Wednesday, the House Committee on Appropriations passed legislation – championed by Congressman Bill Foster – that would enable Argonne National Laboratory to save “millions of dollars” by removing on-site nuclear waste, according to a news release from Foster’s office.

The language added to the committee report by Foster would instruct the Department of Energy to provide additional funding to sites with small amounts of nuclear waste, like Argonne, to allow it to properly dispose of such waste, according to the release.
