廃炉へ長い道のり、史上最悪事故のチェルノブイリ原発 via 日刊工業新聞

1986年4月に史上最悪の事故を起こしたウクライナ北部のチェルノブイリ原発では事故後30年以上たっても廃炉作業が始まっていない。昨年11月にコンクリート製の「石棺」で囲われた4号機をさらに覆う巨大なアーチ型シェルターが設置され、石棺の解体を経て廃炉作業に入る計画だが、原子炉内は大量の放射性物質が残っており、作業は長期にわたりそうだ。 5月上旬にチェルノブイリ原発を視察した世耕弘成経済産業相を案内した同原発のユリア・マルシュチ国際協力・情報課専門官は「(4号機内には)溶け落ちた核燃料(燃料デブリ)などが大量に残っている。半減期が長く非常に危険なもので、しっかり管理しなくてはならない」と説明した。 今年中にシェルターの密閉作業が完了し、石棺の解体作業が始まる予定。シェルター内部にはクレーンが設置され、2023年までに石棺の解体を終える計画で、その後に核燃料や構造物を取り除く廃炉作業に入る。ただ、紛争が続くウクライナは財政状況も厳しく、作業が順調に進むかは不透明だ。(キエフ時事) ウクライナで原発依存が急上昇、紛争で石炭調達困難に 1986年にチェルノブイリ原発事故が起きたウクライナで、政府と親ロシア派の戦闘が始まった2014年以降、原子力発電への依存度が高まり、今年は電力の60%超を賄う事態となっている。ウクライナは石炭が豊富だが、主な産地は親ロ派武装勢力が支配する東部にあり、調達は難しい。ポロシェンコ政権は原発依存を続ける構えだが、NGOは原発の老朽化を懸念する。 国際原子力機関(IAEA)によると、紛争が起きる前の13年、ウクライナの原発依存度は約44%だったが、16年には約52%に上昇。フランス(約72%)、スロバキア(約54%)に次ぐ原発依存国になった。政府軍と親ロ派との散発的な戦闘が続く中、ウクライナのナサリク・エネルギー・石炭産業相は今年2月、原発依存度が62%に達したと明らかにした。   […] 紛争以降、欧州連合(EU)はウクライナ支援を続けているが、CEEBWは支援の結果、原発依存路線が強まっていると指摘。「欧州は代替エネルギー源への資金提供などを行う必要がある」と訴えている。(キエフ時事) 全文は 廃炉へ長い道のり、史上最悪事故のチェルノブイリ原発
