六ヶ所再処理工場 - いま、私たちが知るべきこと via patagonia
(抜粋) この再処理工場を稼動することで、毎日さまざまな放射性廃棄物が発生します。実際にはアクティブ試験中の現在、すでに放射性廃棄物が発生し始めて います。そして固形の低レベル放射性廃棄物は施設内の専用貯蔵施設で保管され、高レベル放射性廃棄物についてはガラス固形化されて一時的に施設内で保管さ れるものの、最終処分地は受け入れる自治体がまだ決まっていません。一方、放射性の気体廃棄物や液体廃棄物からは、放射能がそれぞれ気体は高さ150mの 排気塔から大気中に、液体は太平洋の沖合3km、水深44mにひかれた放水管から海中に放出されます。どちらも放射能を低減処理したうえではありますが、 運営主体である日本原燃の事業許可申請書に記載された数値から市民団体が積算したところによると、こうして大気中に放出されるクリプトン85や海中に放出 されるトリチウム、ヨウ素129などの放射能は、通常の原子力発電所1基分の年間排出量に匹敵する量を1日で排出することになります。これについて事業者 側はその安全性を、「海水は直接人間が飲まないから大丈夫」、「大量の海水で希釈されるから影響はない」、「人間が宇宙や自然界から日常的に浴びている放 射能より少ない」といった説明を六ヶ所村にある見学施設の原燃PRセンターやサイト上でおこなっています。これに対して、豊かな漁場や農場を抱え、海洋汚 染や農水産物への汚染を懸念している周辺の漁業協同組合や農家、またいつまでも安全な食べ物を消費者に提供することを望む生活協同組合や有機食材の宅配会 社、さらに季節を問わず海に入って活動しているサーファーなどからは放射能汚染を懸念する声が高まっています。 全文は六ヶ所再処理工場 - いま、私たちが知るべきこと
