Licensed supervisor at Zion nuclear power plant fails for-cause fitness for duty test via Enformable

A licensed supervisor, who works at the Zion nuclear power plant in Illinois, confirmed positive for alcohol after a for-cause fitness for duty test on January 15th.

The licensee terminated the supervisor’s access to the nuclear power facility.

Fitness for duty tests are administered either randomly, in a lottery-style system where “winners” get to report to the medical office for testing, or for-cause, which are administrated after supervisors note aberrant behaviors and order follow-up testing to ensure compliance.
