Please join us this Thursday, April 28, at 5:00 pm CST for a talk by Shahla Farghadani! Shahla Farghadani is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Michigan Department of Middle East Studies. She works on the history and literary historiography of the Persianate world. Her research interests focus on Indo-Persian literary culture and the social and intellectual history of early modern (16th-18th century) Iran and India.
The title of her talk is “Saʿdi, ghazal’s prophet: Ghazal as a sacred genre in Safavid-Mughal poetics.”
