On Friday, October 20th, the Scherer Center sponsored a field trip to visit the newly opened American Writers Museuem on Michigan Avenue, as part of our #CasualFridays series of events.

In addition to the permanent collection, students viewed the temporary exhibit, The Beat Journey: Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road.” The highlight of the exhibit is the original 120-foot-long scroll on which Kerouac composed his seminal work.

The scroll will remain on display at the museum until November 4, 2017.
