DHCS 2015: Call For Papers

2015 Chicago Colloquium on Digital Humanities and Computer Science

November 13-15, 2015
The University of Chicago – Chicago, Illinois, USA Submission Deadline: September 11th, 2015 http://chicagocolloquium.org

The Chicago Colloquium on Digital Humanities and Computer Science (DHCS) brings together researchers and scholars in the humanities and computer science to examine the current state of digital humanities as a field of intellectual inquiry and to identify and explore new directions and perspectives for future research.

Ten years ago, at the first edition of DHCS, Greg Crane asked “What to do with a million books?”. And since then, dealing with issues related to Big Data has been a continuous pursuit of Digital Humanists. As such, for this tenth edition of the Chicago Colloquium, we would like to invite submissions on any research broadly related to Digital Humanities and Computer Science work applied to humanistic research, with a particular focus on visualization tools, theories, methodologies and workflows to make sense of Big Data. A submission for a paper or poster should include an abstract of ~750 words and a minimal bio. Please send it to clovisgladstone@uchicago.edu by September 11th.

This year’s DHCS is sponsored by The University of Chicago, Loyola University Chicago, Northwestern University, DePaul University, and the Illinois Institute of Technology.
