The University Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to welcome Elena Urioste, one of the most sought-after young violinists in the country, to perform Shostakovich’s virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor on Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. in Mandel Hall. In partnership with The Soviet Arts Experience, the concert entitled “The Decade of The Great Patriotic War,” opens with Myaskovsky’s melodic Symphony No. 22 in B minor, “Symphonic Ballad.” Admission is free with a suggested donation of $10 general and $5 students. A special reception will follow.
