HOW IT WORKS

  • Sign up for an audition. Our audition dates are Saturday, Sept. 30th and Sunday, Oct. 1st.
  • We’ll introduce you to your group at our Launch Party. Each group is assigned a piece to work on and a coach.
  • You’ll arrange a weekly rehearsal time with your group, and you’ll schedule three coachings per quarter.

OUR EVENTS

UChicago Chamber Music Recitals: Occurring at the end of the Winter and Spring quarters, these events showcase the great work we’ve all done in our rehearsals and coachings.

Tea Time Concerts: We present a quarterly performance on this weekly series hosted by the Department of Music.

Honors Concert: This special concert in the Spring Quarter affords several of our participants to play side-by-side in groups with members of the Spektral Quartet and Daniel Pesca.

Salon Concerts: The Chamber Music Salon Series brings music, conversation, and refreshments to a beautiful room in the brand new Campus North Residence Hall.

Chamber Labs: These are intensive, hands-on classes designed to address all your burning chamber music and instrumental questions.

Open Rehearsals: Come watch the Spektral Quartet at work! This quarterly event affords participants in the program the opportunity to observe, ask questions, learn more about the chamber music repertoire, and even participate in musical decision-making.

Rep Classes: Rep Classes are informal opportunities for participants in the Chamber Music Program to gather and play for each other.
