The Committee on Japanese Studies at the University of Chicago’s Center for East Asian Studies is proud to bring you the Ninth Japan at Chicago Conference, “Rethinking Hihyō: The Politics of Literature and the Literature of Politics in Early Postwar Japan,” March 4-5, 2011 at the International House on the University of Chicago campus.

The conference brings together scholars from a variety of institutions across North American and Japan.  It is the concluding event in a collaborative research project organized by faculty and graduate students from the University of Chicago, Princeton University, and Waseda University and the culmination of a series of workshops held at Princeton in March 2010 and at Waseda in July 2010.
