BREATH, BODY, and VOICE

meditationNadia Chana (PhD student in ethnomusicology, Rockefeller Chapel Choir choral scholar, and co-founder of the Bicycle Opera Project) leads a FREE six-week exploratory class called “Breath, Body, and Voice” every Sunday at 6pm in Rockefeller Chapel (5850 S. Woodlawn Ave).

My goal is to create a space where people can explore inhabiting their bodies and voices in ways that are perhaps new, very old, and both freeing and grounding. More specifically, the classes draw on my experience with Roy Hart Theatre work, yogic and meditative practices, operatic training, and slight exposure to contact improvisation. This might be of interest especially to people who are working on affect, embodiment, and practice-based ways of knowing.

BREATH, BODY, and VOICE
Sundays (weekly) from January 19, 6:00 PM Rockefeller
A gentle, intensive, and mindful exploration of voice: singing, sighing, rolling, intuiting, wriggling our way to sound! This class explores the use of breath and voice in ways that encourage body awareness, breath work, and release. No experience necessary. Taught by Nadia Chana, who is dedicated to vocal exploration and seeks to help people find joy in inhabiting their bodies in the service of healing and finding contentment. A six-week series, until Sunday February 23 (come as you can). Free.
