Chicago’s “Best of” Perform in Noontime Concert Series this Thursday

On Thursday, October 28 at 12:15 PM, soprano Rebecca Schorsch and pianist Dana Brown perform 4 songs of Victor Hugo (Liszt), Mignon Lider (Schumann), Mazurka No. 17 (Chopin), Zdes’ khorosho (Rachmaninov), and more!

Soprano Rebecca Simone Schorsch has been called “gutsy…a Chicago favorite” by Time Out Chicago, and named one of the “Best of Chicago” in Chicago Magazine 2008 for her excellence in teaching vocal styles. She has appeared extensively as a concert soloist in both Classical and Musical Theatre repertoire, and has been heard live on WFMT Chicago on the Pianoforte Foundation Salon. Rebecca is currently on the Voice Faculty at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, where she has taught since 2006.

Pianist Dana Brown has performed at the Ravinia and Tanglewood Festivals, in addition to several programs on WFMT from the Pianoforte Foundation Friday Series, and the Chicago Cultural Center. He is the Associate Professor of Opera and Vocal Coaching at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, where he conducts and coaches opera and teaches graduate students in the voice program.
