Court Theatre continues its 56th season with the March 10th opening of Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, adapted by Sara Ruhl and directed by Jessica Thebus. The production will run until April 10th and demonstrates Court Theatre’s ongoing commitment to producing contemporary translations and adaptations of classic works.
In the meantime, Court Theatre’s 2011-12 Season is already making a splash in the news with artistic director Charles Newell’s widely anticipated Chicago revival of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America in Spring 2012. According to the Chicago Tribune, “the production was Kushner’s personal suggestion and the playwright is expected to be in Hyde Park for at least some of the process.”
WTTW’s Elizabeth Brackett also interviewed Court Theatre’s Resident Dramaturg Drew Dir about Sara Ruhl’s adaptation of Orlando. To buy tickets or learn more about this exciting and groundbreaking production, please click here.
