Now in its 16th year, the Film Studies Center (FSC) proudly presents an on-going schedule of visiting filmmakers, rare screenings, workshops and conferences. This fall, the line-up features legendary multimedia artist Carolee Schneeman, groundbreaking experimental filmmaker Phil Solomon, independent documentarian Cheryl Dunye, and award-winning contemporary videomaker Sasha Waters Freyer. In addition, FSC presents an archival screening of the 1930 French classic “Au bonheur des dames,” with live piano accompaniment.
The Film Studies Center (FSC) is a comprehensive support center for Committee on Cinema and Media Studies (CMS), providing an ideal site for students and faculty to explore film and other media. Since its establishment in 1992, the FSC has played a vital role in fostering serious interdisciplinary film scholarship. In the FSC, students can pursue inquiries into the history, criticism, and theory of film.
