Seminar participants may choose to spend their five weeks residing in a comfortable, new, air-conditioned dorm on The University of Chicago campus (10 single rooms are available). The South Campus Residence Hall is an easy walk from Regenstein Library, less than five minutes from the seminar’s meeting place in the Harper Quadrangle, and just steps away from the beautiful tree-lined avenue of the Midway. Also within very easy walking-distance: the Logan Center for the Performing Arts, the Ratner Athletics Center (with Olympic size pool), and the Seminary Co-op Bookstore (best in country for scholarly books).
The single rooms (with a common floor bathroom) are available for $45.30 per night (for 28 nights or more). All rooms are furnished with an extra-long twin bed, desk and chair, dresser, bookshelves, and telephone with free calls within US.
Please indicate on your application whether you would like to apply for one of these rooms. Other housing options are available in the neighborhood. For information, please e-mail the Seminar Administrative Assistant, Lauren Schachter. email@example.com
PLEASE NOTE: If you request a room in the Residence Hall and are assigned one, you are committed to having the price of the room deducted from your stipend. The same is true with regard to meals in the Residence Hall.
Amenities at the South Campus Residence Hall (SCRH) include:
– weekly linen exchange
– multiple lounges and kitchens
– computer rooms
– music practice rooms
– a two-story reading room

All-you-care-to-eat dining options are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests of the residential dorms.

Breakfast: $7.30 Lunch: $10.40 Dinner: $12.90.
PLEASE NOTE: These are the rates if you commit yourself in advance to the number of each meal you wish to take (i.e. for instance, X dinners and X breakfasts a week). YOU CAN ALSO PAY FOR INDIVIDUAL MEALS AD HOC with cash or a personal credit card, though the rates will be slightly higher and will include tax.
