Hey MAPHers, suffering a case of the winter thesis doldrums? Get in touch with your artistic side and express yourself by taking art classes at the Hyde Park Art Center (you don’t have to discuss Lacan in these classes, although I suppose you could if you wished. People might raise eye brows). The HPAC begins its five-week art courses NEXT WEEK, on February 11! It’s one 2.5 hour class a week, so take some time off, and get creative to chill out!
**CERAMIC TILES** Produce your own hand made tiles
~STAINED GLASS~ Cut glass and build panels
**METAL SMITHING AND JEWELRY**chain making, jewelry,
vessels, flatware – and lots of sawing!
~CROCHET~ Make your own winter woollies
**PROFESSIONAL WRITING FOR ARTISTS**
~TEXTILE MANIPULATION~ felting, fulling, knitting, crochet,
quilting, and even recycling!
The Hyde Park Art Center is located on 5020 S. Cornell, in the building that says “ART” in gigantic colorful letters.
