Eligibility: Applicants need not have advanced degrees, but individuals currently enrolled in a degree-granting program are ineligible to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or foreign nationals who have been living in the U.S. for at least the three years prior to the application deadline.
The NEH provides support for scholars pursuing advanced research in all fields in the humanities. A scholar on leave can receive up to $4,200 per month for up to twelve months (maximum = $50,400).
