I’ve long been interested in crossover projects between computing and the humanities, and have taught a variety of courses related to themes of “computer programming as a liberal art.” I’m currently working on a monograph on Aristotle’s Poetics as a productive science that may someday have implications for thinking about artifactual design. Brenda Laurel’s Computers as Theater would be in a related domain space.

Fields of interest: Text Analysis , Imaging/Visualization, Information Retrieval, Computational Linguistics, Libraries/Digital Archives, Modelling/Simulations, Electronic Literature, Computational Art, Semantic Search, Collaborative Technologies, Cinematic Syntax
