Funding will again be available to support professional development for faculty or graduate student language instructors who would like to pursue training in language teaching, assessment, and/or technology in 2012. In some instances, it may also be possible to support conference travel related to language pedagogy. These funds are available from the general CSL budget for the support of our language faculty at the university.
At present, we would like to solicit proposals from those of you who would like to take advantage of Spring, Summer, or Autumn 2012 programs, i.e., any programs, conferences, workshops, or other events through the end of the calendar year 2012. If you would like to apply, please send a cover letter describing your professional, linguistic, and scholarly interests and how the proposed program or travel fits in with your overall academic plans or career goals to . Please provide a description of the program and a proposed budget. Applications should be turned in no later than Friday, April 27, 2012. Proposals will be considered by the Advisory Council to the CSL and awards will be announced by the end of May.
