Second call for papers
The Fifth International Conference on Cognitive Science is inviting for registration and abstract submission via the conference website

The conference is organized by The Interregional Association for Cognitive Studies (IACS), the Interregional foundation “Centre for the Development of Interpersonal Communication”, Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and the National Research Centre “Kurchatov Institute”.
This conference succeeds the Conferences on Cognitive Science held in Kazan’ (2004), St. Petersburg (2006), Moscow (2008), and Tomsk (2010).
The conference aims to organize a multidisciplinary forum for scientists exploring cognition and its evolution, intellect, thinking, perception, consciousness, knowledge representation and acquisition, language as a means of cognition and communication, brain mechanisms of cognition, emotion and higher forms of behavior. Psychologists, linguists, neuroscientists, computer scientists, philosophers, anthropologists, specialists in education, artificial intelligence, neuroinformatics and cognitive ergonomics as well as other researchers interested in interdisciplinary research on cognition are invited to participate in the conference.

The conference program will include lectures by leading experts in multidisciplinary cognitive studies. Invited speakers are T. Givón (University of Oregon), Daniel C. Dennett (Tufts University), Terrence Deacon (University of California, Berkeley), Kimmo Kaski (Aalto University, Helsinki), George Lakoff (University of California, Berkeley), Saadi Lahlou (Institute of Social Psychology, London), and David J. Chalmers (Australian National University).
The working languages of the conference are Russian and English. For all spoken presentations simultaneous translation will be provided.
There will be two formats of presentation, oral and poster. Accepted abstracts will be published by the beginning of the conference. Abstracts should be submitted online via the conference website:

The deadline for abstract submission is November 15, 2011. Submission guidelines can be found on the conference website.

Special attention in abstract selection will be paid to interdisciplinary approach and clarity of the abstract content for researchers from other disciplines.
Applicants will be notified of their status by February 15, 2012. Organizers of the Conference hope to cover the accommodation expenses for the participants in high-quality Kaliningrad hotels (for presentations by several coauthors accommodation will be covered for one presenting author only).
