  • Martinovic to WCCFL

    Martina Martinovic will be presenting “The Interaction of Animacy with Phonetic and Phonological Factors in Neostokavian” at WCCFL 29 at the University of Arizona on April 22-24, 2011. Our alum, Michael (Mitcho) Erlewine (BA/MA, 2007) will also be presenting “Share to Compare: the Mandarin bĭ Comparative” there as well. Yay to Chicagoans!

  • Bochnak to SULA

    Ryan Bochnak will present “Managing vagueness, imprecision and loose talk in Washo: the case of šemu” at SULA on May 5-7 at the University of Manchester.

  • Grano and Kennedy to SALT

    Tommy Grano will present “Mental action and event structure in the semantics of ‘try’” at SALT 21 to be held at Rutgers University on May 20 – May 22, 2011. Chris Kennedy is also one of the invited speakers.

  • Lee to Montreal

    Jackson Lee will be presenting “The (non-)blocking of non-TETU tonal overwriting in Cantonese attenuative reduplication” at the Phonology in the 21st Century: In Honor of Glyne Piggott conference at McGill University on May 7-9, 2011. Congrats!

  • More LSA fellowship news

    In addition to Rebekah being named the Bloch Fellow, several other grad students (Andrea Beltrama, Jackson Lee, and Martina Martinovic) have also received LSA fellowships to attend the Linguistics Institute in Boulder, CO, this summer. Congrats to all!
