Indian Point agenda pushed by Entergy ‘front’ groups, political money, report charges via Newsday

Entergy Corp. has showered political donations on friendly Westchester County politicians and used two “front” groups staffed by affiliated executives, consultants and lobbyists in an effort to muster support for the license renewal of the two working reactors at its Indian Point nuclear power plant in Buchanan, Common Cause said in a report released Thursday.
Two groups described in the report as fronts for Entergy — SHARE (Safe Healthy Affordable Reliable Energy) and NY AREA (Affordable Reliable Electricity Alliance) — engage in “AstroTurf” lobbying, forming coalitions and gathering support under the guise of independent nonprofit business associations, Common Cause said.
