Nigeria to face nuclear challenges via Energy Market Price

In the attemp to stabilize Nigeria’s power generation capacity, the Federal Government of Nigeria is set to sign a contract with the Russian Federation.
 

Under this agreement, Russia will build a nuclear power plant in Nigeria, being the second nuclear facility on the African continent. The first one was build in the South African Republic in 1984.
The initial deal between the two countries was proposed in 2009, but the agreement had not yet been reached since then.
The recent Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, the most disastrous accident since the Chernobyl drove many countries to giving up to nuclear power, however this being far from becoming a trend.
