Special nuclear confab to address Fukushima via The Japan Times

VIENNA — The contracting parties to the Convention on Nuclear Safety, which finished their 10-day review meeting in Vienna on Thursday, have decided to hold an extraordinary meeting on the Fukushima No. 1 plant crisis in August 2012.

The meeting will last one week and aim at strengthening nuclear safety by “reviewing and sharing lessons learned and actions taken by contracting parties in response to events of Fukushima,” according to a joint statement issued at the end of the review meeting.
