東京電力は12日午後7時半ごろ、福島第1原発2号機の屋外の立て坑にたまった高濃度の放射性物質で汚染された水をタービン建屋内の復水器に移送する作業を始めた。2号機の取水口付近で汚染水が海に流出するなどして対応に追われていたが、足踏みしていた作業がようやく始まった。
ただ、高濃度の汚染水は2号機のタービン建屋地下と立て坑だけでも計2万トン、1〜3号機で総量6万トンに上るとみられ、今後の作業が順調に進むか予断を許さない。
