Message from M.T. Silvia

Hello friends,

I am so saddened by the earthquake and the nuclear crisis in Japan. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Japanese people. I have been slowly hearing from my friends there and it’s just heartbreaking to hear their stories. After watching hours and hours of the devastation of the bombing of Hiroshima, to watch the tsunami damage is hauntingly familiar. I am heartsick to think of the Hibakusha, the survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, who have had to also endure the tragedy of this earthquake.

I am deeply concerned and troubled about the nuclear power plants that are failing and the amount of radiation released. We are all downwind of this story. I am encouraged by the many countries that are re-evaluating their nuclear energy strategy because of this catastrophe.

Please do whatever you can to support the Japanese during this extremely challenging time.

Here are several ways to help.

Thank you,

M.T.
