Welcome to afterMAPH, the University of Chicago’s Master of Arts Program in the Humanities (MAPH) alumni weblog. We’ve put this blog together in an E.M. Forster “only connect” kind of spirit. The afterMAPH blog is a space dedicated to keeping alumni posted on the many opportunities (for jobs, entertainment, and networking) that continue to flow through the MAPH office. It is also a space meant to serve as a hub for the ever-expanding corpus of MAPH graduates—on these pages, you can find information on official and unofficial alumni events; features on alumni’s continuing lives and achievements; a place for alumni to publish or publicize their work: scholarly, creative, or otherwise; and forums designed so that MAPH alum can keep in touch, help each other out, and continue to engage one another in conversation. We hope that it will facilitate continued community across each MAPH class, and develop a sense of community across MAPH‘s ten years.
Just a note: MAPH also administers an e-mail listserv, Irony, which sends *some* of the afterMAPH blog content directly to your inbox. Check out our Irony page to learn more, or join the list.
Tell us what you’re up to. Share a scene from the play you’re working on. Write us a feature. Baby pictures? Shout outs? Musings? Great. Submit away!
