Classroom Technology in Cochrane-Woods Art Center

Scheduling an Appointment for Tech Support

VRC staff can provide technical assistance for special events or lectures in Cochrane-Woods by appointment only. Services include media-cabinet orientation, connection of laptop to projector, and resolution and color-profile selection. Appointments must be scheduled two weeks prior to the event. Contact visualresources@uchicago.edu to schedule an appointment. Support is not available without an appointment.

Available Technology

Each CWAC classroom is equipped with color-calibrated, ceiling-mounted HD digital projectors, VGA and HDMI connections, wall-mounted screens, and speakers. Each room also has dual 35mm slide projection capability (upon request only). Please note that it is not possible to adjust the color or brightness of the digital projectors. For equipment rental or services not listed here, please contact Audio Visual Services or Academic Technologies.

Laptop-based Projection

Please note, currently the classrooms do NOT have built in computers or laptops. If you need to use a laptop, please make arrangements to bring one in for your class or lecture. Graduate students, faculty, and guests of the Art History Department may reserve a VRC laptop for a lecture or seminar by emailing visualresources@uchicago.edu. Others may be able to borrow a laptop from Audio Visual Services.
Known issue: CWAC projectors often do not display laptops under 12″ well. If your laptop is under 12″, allow extra set-up time and have a back-up laptop available. Use a larger laptop with a higher resolution display for best results.
