The VRC offers assistance with display technology as well as presentation software, such as Powerpoint or Keynote. For self-guided instruction in PowerPoint, see below. For other digital imaging tips, click here.

Cochrane-Woods Art Center Technology

The VRC can show you how to use the technology in Cochrane Woods Art Center (CWAC) classrooms. If you are teaching, leading a workshop, or acting as a course assistant in a CWAC classroom, you should check out a media cabinet key from the VRC for the quarter. Before using the classroom equipment an orientation session with either the Director or Assistant Director is required.

Each CWAC classroom is equipped with ceiling-mounted digital projectors, international VHS and DVD players, wall-mounted screens, speakers, and external component capability. High Definition projection is available in the main lecture hall. Each room also has dual 35mm slide projection capability.

Please note, currently the classrooms do NOT have built in computers or laptops. If you need to use a laptop, please make arrangements to bring one in for your class. Graduate students, faculty, and guests of the Art History Department may reserve a VRC laptop with presenter mouse for a lecture or seminar by emailing visualresources@uchicago.edu. Others may borrow a laptop from NSIT Audio Visual Services.
