Humanities Computing provides innovative technology services, user support, and computing resources to meet the academic and administrative needs of our faculty and staff. Our expertise emerges from our knowledge of and ongoing engagement with the intellectual pursuits and activities of the humanities division.
Our staff works closely with affiliated disciplinary units and technology groups on campus as well as peer institutions, consortial groups, funding agencies and other professional organizations to advance the division’s academic, research and administrative goals.
Humanities Computing is led by Arno Bosse, Senior Director for Technology, and divided into three units, each with a distinct area of responsibility. Desktop Support is the first point of contact for faculty and staff for general technical assistance and troubleshooting, as well as new and replacement computers. Research Computing helps faculty find, support, and develop technical solutions for their research projects. Administrative & Academic Computing designs and maintains the servers and databases that support research and administrative projects, coordinates the development of new divisional Web sites and provides access to a variety of web-based, collaborative services.
