Reception Reflection

Once again, thank you to all of you who came and made our first networking event such a productive and inspiring event! Here’s your opportunity to continue some of the conversations we started yesterday, share some thoughts or feedback, and/or continue to make connections amongst ourselves!

Dear Sustainability Partners—Again, our thanks for making that reception on Wed. such an inspiring get together. We very much hope that you will use this listserv and our blog– http://lucian.uchicago.edu/blogs/sustpartners/ –to follow up with some comments, suggestions, and just general information sharing. As we work together to turn the Rust Belt into a Green Belt, beautify our neighborhoods, improve our food options, and get our children outside to learn about their local ecology in engaging ways, we need to share our thoughts and our energy. Please let us all know what, practically speaking, would be especially helpful to you and/or your organization, as we carry on this effort. Best, Bart

This just in from Fran Vandervoort:

I have a couple of suggestions for possible future
    events:
    1. 2009 is the 100th anniversary of the Daniel Burnham Plan. Someone from the Chicago Architectural Foundation could speak.
    2. Rebecca Graff, grad student in the Dept. of Anthropology, has a couple of grants to sample Jackson Pk. sites for traces of the Columbian Exposition. She will be working with undergrads Spring quarter.

I look forward to future events!

    Fran
