Alumnae writers return to share their work

The University of Chicago Magazine reports that, last week, four alumnae poets gathered in Classics 110 to share their work. The event was tied to the Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference held in Chicago on February 11-14.

Shaindel Beers, AM’00, read from her recently-published collection A Brief History of Time. Kiki Petrosino, AM’04, read from Fort Red Border, a collection that will be published this summer. Stephanie Anderson, AB’03, and also an English doctoral student, read several poems from her manuscript and several short collage poems. And Michelle Taransky, AB’04, read from Barn Burned, Then, including a piece that she wrote just a few steps away in the Classics Cafe.
