Students explore adaptations

sabine women - adaptationAt the Smart Museum’s Winter Art Party February 28, students had the opportunity to explore the Museum’s collections and create works of art of their own. They primarily focused on the most recent exhibit, “Adaptations: Video Installations by Ben-Ner, Herrera, Sullivan, and Sussman & The Rufus Corporation,” which delves into the connections between the source material and the way artists transform and re-envision classic literature, painting, film, ballet, and even e-mail as new video installations.

During the event, participants were given props resembling objects from the Museum’s permanent collection and Polaroid cameras to create their own adaptations. In addition, students took part in a scavenger hunt around the museum.
