Welcome to MESSA

MESSA is the Middle Eastern Studies Students’ Association at the University of Chicago. Our membership consists of all students in the Masters Program at the Center of Middle Eastern Studies, as well as an extensive network of alumni and supporters.

We host a series of events throughout the academic year that aim to share Middle Eastern culture, language, history, and religion with the larger campus community. We also provide workshops and service opportunities that focus on the academic and professional development of students interested in careers related to the Middle East.

We hope that you find our site to be a useful resource in expanding your involvement with MESSA at the University of Chicago. See you at our next event!
