Welcome to MAPHtastic, MAPH’s current student blog!We hope that this space will be useful to you in a number of ways.We will be posting academic and administrative tidbits here for easy reference.These will include cool course descriptions and lectures that we think you might want to check out, important deadlines (Oh, THAT’s when my thesis is due…) and other fun facts from the MAPH office and from the University in general, things the mentors wish we had known during our year in MAPH.

We also will be using this space to talk about fun things that are going on in Hyde Park and in Chicago at large.One of the best aspects of the MAPH experience is the amazing social network and strong friendships it fosters, and we want you to be able to enjoy your new friends in what for many of you must be a new city.Chicago is an amazing place to work, and also an incredible place to play. We want to help you take advantage of all the great things going on year round.

We also hope to use the blog as a way to maintain continuity between various years of MAPH.For this reason, we will be including “guest appearances” from interesting alumni who, we think, have helpful advice to share, as well as exciting adventures and entertaining stories to tell.
