The Hyde Park Art Center is putting on its third annual 24-hour arts event, Creative Move 2008: Moving Mountains. This fabulous event comes right after our very own “Works in Progress” and is a great place to go, have fun, create art, talk with your peers, dance, and even have a few drinks. The event is FREE and begins on Friday April 25th at 8pm and runs until the next day, finishing at 8pm.
Events include performances by guest DJs, dance shows, open mike opportunities, film screenings, hatha yoga classes in the early morning hours, film screenings, an exhibition that they claim invites you to “literally move mountains,” and chances to win prizes from local vendors! You can also visit the HPAC website for a full schedule of events.
Also, if you want to get involved with the event itself, you can volunteer to help; volunteer shifts run from 7pm on Friday to 9pm on Saturday and are broken up into 4 hours shifts. For doing this you will get a free t shirt and free delightful food treats from Whole Foods. If you are interested in helping out, please email the volunteer Coordinator Michal Lynn Shumante at email@example.com.
This really is a great opportunity to do something cool within Hyde Park and help support the nationally recognized Hyde Park Art Center!
