Features of the past summer included a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Trio Opus. 1 No. 3 on the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Beethoven festival, and a live radio broadcast performance of Edgar Varèse’s Amériques for piano eight hands with the International Contemporary Ensemble at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York. A new solo CD of contemporary tangos, Tangos for Piano, will be relased by Ravello Records on October 26, 2010. Upcoming projects include a recital with violist Masumi Rostad on the University of Chicago Presents Series (October), the Chicago Symphony’s MusicNOW series (December), a Bach and Schoenberg program on the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s chamber music series (January), performances of Stravinsky’s own transcription for Rite of Spring for four hands (February) and Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians with eighth blackbird and friends at the Museum of Contemporary Art (February). Amy is also excited about the numerous chamber music activities at University of Chicago this year, including the brand-new “Lieder Project” which will pair student singers and pianists to present performances of lieder cycles.
