Yeary, Mark

In 2009–10, Mark was a Mellon Dissertation Humanities Fellow and a Franke Affiliated Fellow, which allowed him to present and develop portions of his dissertation in progress, titled “Perception, Pitch, and Musical Chords.” He presented a portion of this work at the 2010 Indiana University Symposium of Research in Music Theory, and he has been invited to present a poster this August at the upcoming Eleventh International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition. Mark also presented a paper on tonal organization in William Byrd’s motets at the 2009 meeting of the Society for Music Theory, and an expanded version of this paper is in press with VoiceXchange, the University of Chicago graduate student music journal. Most significantly, Mark and his wife Sharon brought into the world their second child, Sarah June Yeary, on February 9, 2010.
