Woodside, Mary (Ph.D., 1987)

Mary Woodside (Ph.D 1987) reports that she and her husband, Ken Woodside (Ph.D. 1977), have retired as of September, 2009 from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. Their children, Jennifer and Jonathan, are married and living in Guelph and Toronto.

Mary was on faculty in the School of Fine Art and Music since 1987. Her most recent publication, an English edition of the memoirs of a Swiss music critic and noted scholar of Russian music, was a joint project with French scholar, Neal Johnson. The book, entitled _The Russian Life of R.-Aloys Mooser, Music Critic to the Tsars: Memoirs and Selected Writings_ (Lewiston, Queenston, Lampeter: The Edwin Mellen Press, 2008) concerns Mooser’s early career in St Petersburg, Russia from 1896-1909.
