<p><strong>Eligibility:</strong> Candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or current faculty members of an academic or professional organization in the U.S.; preference is given to untenured junior faculty, but qualified postdocs also may apply</p>
<p>Visiting Scholars at the Academy of Arts &amp; Sciences are expected to be in residence at the American Academy in Cambridge throughout the academic year (mid-September-May). Applicants should be untenured junior faculty or postdoctoral students who can demonstrate that their work will make a substantial contribution in one or more of the Academy’s four scholarly research areas: Humanities and Culture, Social Policy and American Institutions, Science and Global Security, and Education Policy.  Proposals should take into account the Academy’s emphasis on interdisciplinary work, as well as its interest in broadening public understanding of important intellectual trends and contemporary policy choices.</p>
<p>Faculty can receive up to $60,000 (not to exceed one-half of current salary). Postdocs receive an annual stipend of up to $40,000. The Academy provides office space, computer services, library privileges, and assists with information on locating housing. The Commonwealth  of Massachusetts and the Academy require that you have health insurance before taking up your residency.</p>

<p>Fellows of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study are in residence from September through June at Harvard  University and receive office or studio space and access to libraries and other resources at Harvard. The fellows must make their own living accommodations in the Boston area. The Institute invites applicants working in the creative arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics to apply. Stipends are funded up to $65,000 for one year with additional funds for project expenses. Some support for relocation expenses is provided where relevant. In recognition of Radcliffe’s historic contributions to the education of women and to the study of issues related to women, the Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women, gender, and society. Women and men from across the United States and throughout the world, including developing countries, are encouraged to apply.</p>
