Student Grants

We are very pleased to be able to offer $500 towards transportation expenses and 4 nights paid lodging to 3 graduate students who wish to participate in the 2008 DHCS Colloquium, but cannot afford to attend. These grants are made possible by the generous support of the Computation Institute at the University of Chicago.

Terms

* Grants are available for full-time, enrolled graduate students in Humanities or Computer Science departments
* Recipients will be selected by the DHCS Program Committee with preference going to students who have been chosen to present posters or demos at DHCS, and those who would otherwise not be able to attend
* A $500 travel stipend can be applied to your transportation expenses
* Recipients will have rooms reserved and paid for at the International House, within a short walk to all colloquium activities. Check-in is after 3pm on Friday, October 31st, with check-out before noon on Tuesday, November 4th.

For consideration, please send a short (1/2 page) letter to dhcs-conference@listhost.uchicago.edu, explaining your work and how it relates to the topic of the colloquium. The deadline for the application is Monday, October 13th. Decisions will be emailed back to applicants by Friday, October 17th.
