Editor’s Note—3.2

LETTER from the Editors

One of my favorite pastimes is collecting and telling jokes, especially wordplay jokes. Words are fun to play with, and they lend themselves to whimsy and malleability. There aren’t any jokes in this issue—well, that’s not entirely true—but what you will find a variety of deeply satisfying ways of making words do wonderful things. (In the case of our visual artist, she says it all with her hands.)

It’s exciting to do these small, tightly curated issues. Each piece differs from the last, and moving through them, regardless of order, is an exercise in both variation and excellence.

Finally, nearly a year in the making, we’re very happy to announce that the print anthology is now available. It’s a lovely, 132-page perfect-bound paperback with a wide selection of material from the first two years of online issues, and a few special selections that can only be found in the print edition.

Want one? They’re available for a suggested donation of $10 to cover cost of printing and postage. Email us at colloquium@uchicago.edu if you want your own copy.
