MAPH Thesis Awards 2013—Editors’ Note

The MAPH thesis awards are back! While the annals of MAPH history may not be exact as to how long the thesis awards have been absent, we are delighted about their return.

The Colloquium incarnation of the MAPH thesis awards features three theses from each year’s cohort, nominated by preceptors and selected by the editors of Colloquium, that exemplify the thoughtful research and writing that characterizes MAPH students. Awards are made in the summer, and the special issue is released in the fall.

We are pleased to present the winners of the MAPH 2013 awards for their essays in art history, cinema studies, and political philosophy, respectively: Madeleine Boucher, Michelle Neuffer, and Gustav Steinhardt.
