Russian Lecturer, Iowa State University

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Iowa State University is seeking a part-time lecturer to instruct Russian language and culture courses at the first- and second-year levels. Possibility of teaching one or more courses in English on Russian culture. Required qualifications: Master’s degree in Russian, Russian Studies with an emphasis on Russian language and/or culture, or closely related field. Demonstrated native or near-native fluency in Russian and English. Evidence of successful experience teaching undergraduate students in Russian language. Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in Russian or Russian Studies with experience teaching both lower- and upper-division courses in language and culture; experience teaching Russian Studies courses in English. Salary commensurate with qualifications.

Croatian Instructor, Language Trainers Chicago

We are a successful language training company working with freelance trainers all over the world to provide private tuition for numerous languages, but mainly in the US and the UK. We have students (private and corporate) who need to learn languages, anytime and anywhere. Thus we organize teachers for them at their offices or their homes.

One of our clients in Chicago, IL 60654 would like to have a General Croatian tuition. Lessons should start as soon as possible. Location of the classes and schedule could be re-arranged. The salary is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. We are also happy to discuss travel costs.

In order to be eligible for this position, you should be a native speaker of the language and/or have a language degree and at least two years experience in teaching. You will also be required a visa/working permit if you are not a citizen of the country where we are currently searching. Candidates who do not match these criteria will not be considered in the recruitment process. The company offers freelance-part time positions, and can not sponsor your visa.

Foreign Language Instructional Technologist, Reed College, Deadline March 31

Reed College seeks a foreign language instructional technologist to work with faculty and students to provide assistance in the evaluation and effective use of technologies to support foreign language teaching and learning at Reed. This is a half-time position that includes full benefits and the opportunity to be part of an ideal working environment on the beautiful Reed campus.

Desired qualifications include: master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience) in a foreign language, educational technology, or a related field; demonstrated interest or experience in foreign language pedagogy, especially with respect to electronic resources; working knowledge of one or more of the languages taught at Reed (Chinese, French, German, Russian, Spanish); proficiency with both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
