The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art invites you to the exhibit of the collection of Dr. Achilles and Vera Chreptowsky. Since the 1950s, Achilles and Vera accumulated a large personal collection of modern and contemporary artwork. They were also instrumental in establishing the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art in Chicago as a venue for artistic and other cultural activities.
The Chreptowsky collection will showcase a selection of approximately 40 pieces a diversity of work and styles from the latter half of the twentieth century, illustrating artistic trends current of the time.
This exhibition will not only celebrate and pay tribute to these two collectors, but also to the artists themselves. Included in this exhibition are works by Alexander Archipenko, Ihor Dmytruk, Alexis Gritchenko, Liuboslav Hutsaliuk, Jacques Hnizdovsky, Alexander Hunenko, Alexandra Kochman, Peter Kolisnyk, Ron Kostyniuk, Gregor Kruk, Konstantin Milonadis, Jerzy Nowosielski, Aka Pereyma, Jurij Solovij, Jurij Strutynsky, Mychajlo Urban and others.
At the same time, in the Permanent Collection gallery, the UIMA will pay tribute to the late sculptor and co-founder of the Institute, Konstantin Milonadis (1926-2012).
