Call for Papers: “Manifesting Culture and Community: Materiality in
Anthropology” conference at the University of Illinois at Chicago;
Saturday, March 3rd, 2012.

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Chicago
(UIC) invites graduate students to submit presentation proposals for an
graduate student paper conference at the UIC Campus on Saturday, March 3,
2012. Additionally, undergraduate students are invited to submit abstracts
for a poster session that will be held at a reception during the
conference. The Keynote Address will be given by Dr. Neil Smith,
Distinguished Professor of Geography and Anthropology at the Graduate
Center of the City University of New York.

Students are asked to register and submit a 250 word abstract for a 15
minute paper or poster by Thursday, January 12, 2012 at
http://anthropology.las.uic.edu/2012-second-city-anthropology-graduate-student-conference.
If you are not presenting, but would still like to attend, please register
on the website so we can assess our planned attendance. Food
and refreshments will be provided. This conference is free with advance
